Ampelography of Nero d'Avola vine

The ampelographic data sheet  describes a grapevine with a ligneous portion made up of a robust, upright and reddish shoot, slightly streaked with oval internodes spaced approximately 8 cm apart. The leafy portion shows a slightly grooved, purplish-tinted offshoot. The three-lobed leaves with finely serrate margins are light green in colour, especially on the downward-facing side. Buds begin to appear at the end of March. The tendrils, hearty and thin, present sparse hair at the bottom, and are light green in colour.
